Failure and Success

Success is something that people want to achieve in everything that they do but sometimes we encounter failure.  Now, when we encounter failure, there are so many things that may play a part in this matter.  For example, failing to plan,  fear to try, giving up too soon, disbelief, making excuses, negativity, procrastination and bad choices to name a few.  There is so much more that can play a part in one’s failure.

Failure can also be the foundation to your success.  When you fail, you are going to do one of two things.  You are either going to continue on or give up.  These two outcomes actually depend on the person within you and these two outcomes will also determine if you are going to be successful or not.

Success comes from hard work, determination, dedication, consistency, goal setting, faith/belief, honesty and a lot more.  You have to work consistently at being successful and at times, it is not easy.  If you want it bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to succeed.  One thing for sure is to be ready to give it your all.

To me, the most important factor to success is the “Acceptance of Failure”.  Some      people may think that failing is a bad thing but it truly is not.  Failure is a learning experience.  You learn from the mistakes that you make.  You become more knowledgeable and you grow in many areas.  Without failing, how would you learn because we do not know everything.  There is so much to learn and failures will help you broaden your mind and reach expectations that you probably thought you could not reach.

When you do not succeed at something, do not give up which is the first thing that most people want to do.  You should challenge yourself against all odds.  Failure should not be looked upon as an embarrassment.  It is a learning experience.

The acceptance of failure is the acceptance of the growth in you.  Growing is learning but you have to be willing and wanting to learn.  Failure is a good word and good things come from it.  Such things as:

  1.  You become knowledgeable
  2.  You gain confidence
  3.  Learn Resilience
  4.  You grow as a person
  5.  You become self-aware of the necessity of failure

Failure is one life’s greatest teachers.  It teaches you how to endure the disappointments of life.  It gives you strength and increase your tolerance level.  You will become self-aware of the inner being in you and your potentials.  Embrace the failures of your life and turn them into memorable stories of success.  Failure can be used as a tool to learn from mistake that were made.  You can put certain steps and procedures into place to ensure that you will not make mistakes of that kind again.

Strengths and Weakness

We all have strengths and weaknesses  These two factors build who we are.  In our strengths, we are strong, vibrant and always ready to take on challenges in knowledgeable areas  People are very proud of their strengths.  You should be proud of your weaknesses as well as your strengths.  Your weakness is a part of who you are.

Your weaknesses are there to make you strong.  They are there for you to learn from and to better yourself.  Never think of your weakness as failures.  That is where some people make the mistake of the thought process to a strength vs a weakness.  They feel as if they got to get it right the first time and all the time in some cases.  That is not going to happen to you because in life, we all have failures and mishaps.  We must learn how to utilize them when we encounter them.

A weakness can turn into a strength.  It is like building a muscle.  You have to keep exercising it and keep working at building that muscle until one day you will see that muscle and with strengthening a weakness, you will see yourself grow as a person.

BOUNCING BACK IN LIFE

Need for Resilience in Life

There are times when life does not seem fair. Things are taken from you, you lose in life, situations and circumstances can suddenly shift your life in a totally different direction. So now, you are feeling like life has let you down in so many ways. Your thoughts are telling you that there is not possible recovery from this.
Well, I say to you, yes there is. It is called Resilience. Resilience is defines as the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties toughness. You can bounce back from anything if you have the determination and the steps to resilience to implement in your life. I am going to give you 4 steps for you to utilize in order for you to create resilience into your life no matter what you are currently going through.

4 STEPS TO IMPLEMENT RESILIENCE
• NO BLAME
The first thing that you must understand is that no one is to blame for the ups and downs in life. It wouldn’t be life if you never had obstacles to intervene. When mishaps occurs in life, you must also understand it is one of many mishaps that you may encounter in your lifetime. Open your mind to Acceptance but do not let it wander all over the place deriving at who to blame. This will help you to not sink far into a stage of despair. Acknowledge that it happened and know that you need to find ways to overcome the obstacles.

• LET GO
In order to move forward, you have to let go. This may take a little time but do not dwell to long on this process. Letting go releases the anxiety that has built up inside of you. If you are holding onto things that are causing you pain and doubt, you will never see a clear pathway to freedom. Freedom meaning, the hold on you and your life that is hindering your progress. Let it all go and see how fast you will start to feel better about your circumstances and yourself.

• ACCEPTANCE
Embrace your misfortunes of life. Your acceptance to this can only aid you into moving forward. In your mind, your thoughts are stating that there is nothing to do at this point but to move past this with a positive mindset.

• TAKE ACTION
Now it is time for you to take back control of your life and take action. Your actions is your recovery process. It is time to get yourself back into gear and get your life moving.

Entrepreneurship: Operating the Business Alone

By Vernida Johnson

Having your own business can be adventurous and at times, it can become overwhelming, especially when you are doing everything for the business alone. There are many positions that need to be filled such as a Public Relations person for marketing; Secretary to keep up with schedules, bookings, tasks, answering phones; Accountant to report the financial outlook on the business and so many other positions but guess who has to do all of this work? That’s right, you do when you are operating alone.

So you are probably wondering how you are going to operate your business alone with so much to be done. The key to conquer this is to keep a positive a mindset and schedule the days to work each position that you may need to operate your business. For example, if there is marketing to be done, schedule a designated day of the week to market your business. Designate certain days of the week to perform the various duties of your business.

This will keep you from becoming overwhelmed and keep the flow of your business organized.

Sometimes being in charge of every aspect of your business could be a great thing because you are in the know at all times. You will have hands on and insight of every business detail. It is fine to wear all the hats. It will give you the chance to build your business from the bottom to the top and it will give the knowledge of how to operate the business the way you feel it should be. Make this a fun task. Keep a positive attitude and build your business

STRESS

What is stress?  Stress is defined by Psychology Today as simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium.  In other words, it’s an omnipresent part of life.  A stressful event can trigger the “fight or flight” response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body”.

There are so many reasons why we stress our bodies.  Here are a few related issues:

  • Place of Employment
  • Driving
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Finance

Although these issues are a part of our daily lives, we have to find ways to control the stressors in our lives.  Stress can be a dangerous factor in our health such as:

  • Depression
  • Weight Problems
  • Sleep Problems
  • Head Aches
  • Anxiety

If you are letting stress get to you to the point to which it is causing you problems, it is time for you to take action and learn how to keep calm.

Why Is Self Esteem Important?

Self Esteem is a vital part of your life.  Everyone has self-esteem of some form.  In my opinion, self-esteem is having or not having confidence in yourself.  It is an overall feeling about yourself.  If you are not satisfied with yourself, it is a possibility that you may develop low self-esteem.

Reasons for Low Self Esteem

  • Dissatisfaction in one’s self
  • No self-worthiness
  • Lack of confidence
  • Negative beliefs in yourself
  • Lack of assertiveness

Reasons for High Self Esteem

  • Confident
  • Assertiveness
  • Love yourself
  • Accepting who you are

If you have high self-esteem about yourself, you probably do not have too many issues in that area.  I want to focus on Low Self Esteem and how a person can raise their level of low self-esteem.

Self Acceptance

When you think of self-acceptance, what comes to your mind?  Accepting yourself right?  Well, it’s a little more than that.  It is accepting every aspect of you.  This may include color, shape of body, weight, height gender and character to name a few.  You have to understand that self-acceptance is a vital factor in raising self-esteem.  Love yourself for who you are right now at this moment.  Never compare yourself to another person.  You are unique and remember that.  You are a special someone.  No matter what others say about you, their thoughts are irrelevant to you.  Your thoughts are the relevant ones and the ones that matter. Start loving who you are as you are.  Take a long good look at yourself in the mirror.  Start accepting who you are on the outside so that you can begin to feel good on the inside.  This is your first step to raising your Self Esteem. Accepting who you are, appreciating who you are, loving yourself and most of all, stop listening to negative comments from others about yourself.

Don’t Waste Time On Negativity

How often do you encounter negativity?  Probably more times than you can imagine.  The things we go through in life, situations on our jobs and the people that we encounter on a daily basis can bring much negativity into our lives.  Have you ever been in a great mood and you began to talk to someone and that person starts to complain, say negative things and overall just have a bad attitude and the whole conversation gets totally depressing?  Now guess what?  You are no longer happy and your great mood has been shattered.  Keep in mind, you are not in a bad mood because of you.  You are in a depressing mood because you were in the company of negativity.  When you began to sense negativity around you, try to remove yourself from it if possible.  Now, there will be times when we are stuck there, so what do you do?  Try to change the subject to something more positive.  I now that you have heard that old saying, “Misery loves Company” and that is true.  Negativity steals our joy and puts us in a doubtful state of mine.  You can’t see the good in nothing.  I’m just asking, who would want to be entwined in negativity constantly?  We have to learn how to inspire ourselves and sometimes others to avoid ongoing negativity.

Share your story of a negative issue and what you did to turn it around to a positive.

Self Esteem

What is Self Esteem? Self Esteem is defined as confidence in one’s own worth or abilities; self respect. Self Esteem is a vital part of our being. Either we have a strong belief in ourselves or we do not, it is just that simple. When your self esteem is low, vulnerability is high. You will be vulnerable to negative thinking, little self worth and no belief in yourself. When your self esteem is low, it will have you feeling like nothing matters. I feel that no one should ever feel this low in life no matter what. Self Esteem is a vital part of our lives. It helps us to keep in tune to who we are. S0, how do you rate your self esteem? Is there something that you can do or need to do to build your self esteem in order to increase your level of belief in yourself?

Working For The Passion

Hello Everyone,

I have a question.  Do you feel most satisfied when you work for the money or when you are working for the passion?  My name is Vernida Johnson and I have recently become a Certified Life Coach.  You might ask what is a Life Coach.  A Life Coach is not a therapist but it is a person that will listen to you and encourage as well as guide you to reach your goals in life.  People have always come to me with their issues.  They have confided in me and the things in which they told me, I never shared with anyone.  Trustworthiness has always been extremely important to me as well as integrity, respect etc…….  So, by the time I realized how much I enjoyed helping people solve their issues, it was too late to become a psychologist or a therapist because I had let so many years pass by.  Now, time is of the essence if you know what I mean.  I knew that I really wanted to do this, so what do I do now?  Well, the answer was for me to become a Life Coach.  I can still talk to people and help guide them in the direction that they want to be going in order to have success.  I also will be doing motivational speaking because I feel that people, including myself need to be uplifted.  Life coaching is a job that I will do in my leisure because I do have a 9 to 5 job.  I am very happy and excited by getting this business started and I know that I have a long way to go, but at least I am on my way.  I hope at least.    So I ask, what’s your passion in life?  Maybe you are already prospering in it or maybe it is your future endeavor.  What’s stopping you?
